The name Comox itself is a term meaning "Land of Plenty", the Comox Valley is used to encompass the cities of Courtenay, Comox, Cumberland, Royston, Union Bay, Black Creek and Merville. The “valley”, as you will often heard it referred to, is home to many tourism destinations including Mount Washington Alpine Resort

The city of Courtenay is centrally located on Vancouver Island and provides easy access to all travelers by car, coach, air, sea, and train. Only 3 hours north of Victoria, 1 hour north of Nanaimo or 45 minutes south of Campbell River, traveling to the city can be a relaxing journey.

BC Ferries cross the straight of Georgia from the mainland to Nanaimo, one hour south of Courtenay, and has daily departures from Departure Bay (north of Vancouver) or from
